First Schneider Cup

This first Schneider Cup Race was held on this day in 1913 on the waters near Monaco.

The winner was Maurice Prevost in a float equipped Deperdussin Monocoque.

He set a new world speed record of 126 mph, but because of judging issues won with an average speed under 50 mph.
